Man About the House

Chrissy and Jo throw a farewell party for their flatmate Eleanor, who's getting engaged and moving out. The next morning, they find student chef Robin asleep in their bath. They're looking for a new flatmate and he's looking for somewhere to live, so the girls ask him to stay, but will their landlords, George and Mildred Roper, agree to the new arrangement?

Chrissy's mother is about to pay a visit. She doesn't know Robin is living in the flat, so he's told to make himself scarce, but as she's staying the night, where will he sleep ?

Jo's new boyfriend is coming to the flat for a meal. Robin is persuaded to cook, then leave with Chrissy to spend the evening playing monopoly with the Ropers. They learn that Jo's boyfriend is Jewish - and Robin has cooked roast pork for their meal!

Chrissy is very nervous when Jo goes away for the weekend and leaves her alone in the flat with Robin. He brings a woman back, but Chrissy becomes jealous...

The rent is due and the money put aside to pay it has disappeared from the flat. Robin, Chrissy and Jo have to find a way of getting some cash quickly.

Robin has been picked to play in a college football match. A few days before the game, he goes down with a bad cold. Chrissy and Jo rally round in an attempt to help him to recover in time to play.

Robin acquires a puppy. The lease on the flat says 'no pets', so Roper mustn't find out.

Robin, Chrissy and Jo take advantage of the Ropers being away by having a party!

Robin loses his self-esteem after being unable to defend himself to a mean Irishman at the pub. Chrissy and Jo try to make him feel better, but he decides he will take on the guy the next time he sees him...

Chrissy goes on a date with her new boyfriend. Robin, however, learns that he is married, and tries to stop the date before it becomes a total disaster.

Mr Roper has had a grudge against Germans since the war. Chrissy makes the mistake of inviting him over for a meal with Robin and his German friend, Franz.

Jo is going on a date with Philip, but has forgotten that she is meant to be babysitting. Chrissy agrees to take her place and persuades Robin to come along, but when they arrive, it looks as if he is going to regret his decision as the TV is being repaired and the drinks cabinet is locked.

Robin has failed his cooking exams! It seems he might have to move back to Southampton to work for his father. Larry prepares to move in, as Robin prepares to move out!

Larry drives everyone crazy while living in the flat. Robin, Chrissy and Jo try to find him a place to stay, but where to look ?

Chrissy is upset when Robin begins a relationship with an old friend of hers.

Robin doesn't fit in at Chrissy and Jo's work party.

A mouse invades Chrissy and Jo's bedroom and Robin uses this to his advantage!

Chrissy receives flowers and chocolates from a secret admirer. She gives them to Mildred, who uses them to make George jealous, assuming that Mildred has a secret admirer.

Mildred leaves for the weekend. George takes advantage of this by trying to trick Robin, Chrissy and Jo into leaving the flat.

Chrissy replaces Robin in a poker game while he is away getting his tonsils removed. All she has to do now is learn how to play the game!

Robin, Chrissy and Jo are using the Ropers' car to watch a football match, but it breaks down. They call in for advice hoping that George won't find out, but there he is in the pub showing off his new wig.

Chrissy takes driving lessons from Robin and George makes some incredibly strong homebrew liquor...

Robin has to spend the night with Roper while his friend, Jerry, rids his flat of woodworm.

Robin is in a lot of trouble after Larry uses his name on a date. Can Robin resolve his problem with Linda?

Chrissy's mother visits the flat again, intent on getting her daughter together with Robin.

The Inland Revenue are investigating George for tax irregularities and come round to talk to him and his son, whom he invented for financial gain...

Larry decides to use Chrissy's cine camera and projector for a 'special' type of film...

George has a hard time getting the piano he sold to Robin upstairs.

Robin gets a job as a door-to-door encyclopedia salesman, and needs some help.

While the flatmates compete to get the flat to themselves to entertain friends, George is trying to find jobs to avoid Mildred.

Robin, Chrissy, and Jo are cleaning the Ropers' garden. They discover a plant and decide to keep it, that is until Larry identifies it as cannabis...

Chrissy gets some tickets to see Frank Sinatra in concert - she doesn't want them, but Jo and Robin certainly do! Also, it is George and Mildred's anniversary.

Robin and Chrissy's party is cancelled by George, which leads to a dispute. It gets so bad that Mildred finally leaves him. Can George get Mildred back?

Roper raises the rent, and the flatmates need to find a fourth roomie to help pay it off.

To please Mildred Roper, Robin goes on a dancing date with her while George decides to stay at home. However, George things something might happen between the two.

George needs some money so he sells Mildred's sun lamp to Larry, who sells it to Robin. Later, when Mildred is upstairs, she sees her lamp and thinks Robin has stolen it...

Robin's brother Norman comes to stay for two days, and he takes a shine to Chrissy...

George receives a huge gas bill and decides to open up his chimney, but it needs to be swept so he gets a gadget from Jerry to suck out the soot. Meanwhile, things have moved on considerably with Norman and Chrissy, which makes Robin jealous...

It's the day before Norman and Chrissy's wedding and Mildred is upset that she has not received an invitation...
