This fatal love story is about a girl, Giok Eng Tay and a young man, Nio Sam Pek. Eng Tay's father, Giok Kong Wan is an official whose position has led him to marry his daughter to Ma Bun Cai, the son of a rich regent. The romantic tie between Sam Pek and Eng Tay is severed.
